Fluoride Excess Removal from Brackish Drinking Water in Senegal by Using KSF and K10 Montmorillonite Clays
نویسندگان
چکیده
Fluoride excess in drinking water is noticed many countries around the world and particularly Senegal where, addition to fluoride excess, high levels of salinity are also encountered. In order reduce groundnut basin Senegal, two types clays namely montmorillonite KSF K10 as well were used adsorbent materials. The results show that pH which was initially alkaline becomes acidic varying from 2.80 6.80. pseudo first-order kinetic model fit with adsorption experiments for (r2 = 0.96), while clay same describe slight differences 0.90). has a better capacity compared obtained due presence great level calcium oxide montmorilonite clay.

Review of fluoride removal from drinking water.
Fluoride in drinking water has a profound effect on teeth and bones. Up to a small level (1-1.5mg/L) this strengthens the enamel. Concentrations in the range of 1.5-4 mg/L result in dental fluorosis whereas with prolonged exposure at still higher fluoride concentrations (4-10mg/L) dental fluorosis progresses to skeletal fluorosis. High fluoride concentrations in groundwater, up to more than 30 ...

background existence of fluoride in drinking water above the permissible level causes human skeletal fluorosis. objectives electrocoagulation by iron and aluminum electrodes was proposed for removing fluoride from drinking water. materials and methods effects of different operating conditions such as treatment time, initial ph, applied voltage, type and number of electrodes, the spaces between ...
متن کاملUse of bauxite from active Iranian mines for the removal of fluoride from drinking water
Background: Fluoride plays an important role in bone and dentin mineralization; however, excess fluoride intake is harmful to mankind. Methods: This study evaluated the performance of bauxite from active Iranian mines in removing fluoride from drinking water. The effects of pH, contact time, adsorbent dose, and fluoride concentration on defluoridation and removal efficiency were determined. Ki...
متن کاملFluoride removal from water using crushed limestone
An examination of defluoridation by industrial grade limestone indicated that a combination of precipitation and adsorption of fluoride can be more effective for defluoridation of water. Pre-acidified fluoride water using two edible acids, viz., acetic acid (AA) and citric acid (CA) have been used for treatment by crushed limestone of diameter 3-4 mm to precipitate fluoride as CaF2 in addition ...
